Building Layout and Interior Layout Problems

Building Layout and Interior Layout Problems

Postby jackie17071 » Sun May 27, 2018 12:59 pm

Hi all,

I am having trouble really getting a feel for how to study the Building Layout and Interior Layout problems for the 5.0 exam.
I have taken this exam and failed. I remember these problems from the exam - we are given boxes for the programmed spaces that you drag and drop onto the site. From what I recall we cannot manipulate the box sizes. Does anyone else remember this? Can the boxes be altered?
It seems very different from the study material I am using for these areas - the 4.0 vignettes and Brightwood Book Project Planning and Design 5.0 (chapters specifically for this area).

I get stuck with just boxes when I am trying to develop my circulation spaces!
Any advice?
Are the boxes on the exam able to be manipulated and I missed something???

4.0 vignette study material has nothing to do with 5.0. Drag and drop is just that, drag and drop. No manipulation other than location.

Boxes can usually be rotated, but sizes are fixed.

You may have to rotate a box in order to fit in your schematic design. If you click on the box you can simply select the degree to rotate: 90 for an example. Other that that read the program requirements carefully. Good luck on your next exam.
