I utilized the NCARB practice vignette on a 32 bit machine.
1st floor
8'4" ceiling
Largest duct size w/ 24" joist is 32x24
8" clearance for lights
Footings are 5'4" to accomdate for 4" SOG and 5' frost line
2nd floor
9'0" ceiling
Largest duct size w/ 24" joist is 24x20
8" clearance for lights
Lab
15'0" ceiling
32" joists at 5'0" o.c.
8x8 ducts (see below for question here...)
8" clearance for lights
I'm confused on the duct sizing, though. How do you calculate this? if it says 8x8 duct, and the joists are 32" @ 5'0" o.c. - it's not an 8x8 duct? I saw others modifying the sizes, and I don't know how/why...
Joists overlap bearing walls by a 2" or so...I read that's appropriate. Am I correct?
I did not break the slab at each footing/footing wall, should I?
Corridor wall rated and extended to underside of slab, partition wall non-rated and extends to 6" above ceiling
2' parapets
Let me know your thoughts, I greatly appreciate it!
