Mysterious Plumbing Symbol

Mysterious Plumbing Symbol

Postby stubscook » Wed Feb 05, 2020 6:01 pm

Does anyone know what this plumbing symbol is on a riser diagram?
It's for a high rise building and that symbol is around floor 5.
Also what does the "X" the above it represent?

Thanks.

The "X" is anchor for the pipe & the 3 lines would be a union if i was to guess.

Thanks! The anchor makes sense. But I was thinking that the three lines represent an expansion joint...?

Sometimes union can be expansion joint type, however that symbol is for a union. A quick google for plumbing abbreviations & symbols should help.

Ah yes, it is a union (screwed). The expansion joint symbol is a rectangle.
Thanks for your help!

I retook PDD yesterday and I got a question with the same symbol but "union" or any variation of it was not an option!

I am so angry at NCARB and this exam.

The butt weld matches the top symbol, not the symbol circled in red. :(
