Confused

Confused

Postby kronos313 » Wed Jan 10, 2018 8:32 pm

I have both the Ballast (PPI) and Brightwood study material. Brightwood has extensive structural systems, earthquake and wind chapters/ questions. Ballast (PPI) shows that all of those are supposed to be in the PDD test and there is almost no chapters/ questions on these topics. Can someone clarify please?
Thanks

Ballast literally has these chapters in PDD: structural fundamentals, beams & columns, trusses, foundations, connections, lateral forces- wind, lateral forces-earthquake, loads on buildings. I was finding all of that in the Brightwood PPD study material...

There is a significant amount of structural content on PPD, it would be a good idea to read both the PDD and PPD sections from Ballast. Most of the Ballast 5.0 book content is on the PPD exam, regardless of the chapter/section it may be labeled under.

So what is the true difference between PPD and PDD. If PPD is during the design development phase, theoretically all the calculations should have already been done.
