Stair - Attempt 2

Postby This.Is.Life » Wed Nov 08, 2017 6:07 pm

Stairs & landings are 56" wide (48" between rails).
I'm a little confused on "doors not to reduce width of landing to less than 1/2 the required width". Does this mean from the edge of the open door, the landing needs to be 56" divided by 2? So 28" from the open door to the edge of the landing?
Thanks for any help!

Coach,
Would you mind helping me out on the reduce width of landing question?

Coach, I am still not very clear about this, why the distance is measured diagonally from the door swing to the landing corner for the upper landing, while the lower landing is measured from the door edge to the closest landing corner? Shouldn’t it always be measured from the worst point (least landing width left)? Thank you for any explanation!
