CHANGES DURING DESIGN PHASES

CHANGES DURING DESIGN PHASES

Postby ArchiShark » Thu Jun 29, 2017 1:47 pm

Can anyone help me out with the process of client changes during the design phases. I'm guessing that any changes during a design phase that would change a major design item/element, that was already approved at end of a previous phase would trigger an additional service because the change is after client approval. OR is it only changes after design development phase approval that deserve an additional service charge? OR am I totally wrong in both cases. Please help testing soon July 26. Thanks :?:

The simple answer to your question is that if the client changes the scope of work during the first three phases (thus changes the contract), that would entitle the Architect to additional compensation.

Doesn't matter if it's SD, DD or CD. The important thing is that the contract is changing.

Look at the contract. Be sure to study the version with commentary.

Thanks Gbalaka, I see the repeated calls for client approvals now, B210 2.2.4, 2.2.7, 2.3.1, 2.3.3, 2.4.1. Helpful!
