FIRST TRY FOR THE VIGNETTE. CONFUSED! HELP!

Postby bovannu01 » Sun Nov 05, 2017 3:45 pm

Guys,

This is my first attempt at the vignette. Testing soon!
Please comment!
Also have a few questions:

1. How do you place the accent light. is there a minimum required distance from the wall? From reading the chart, it seems like the spacing from edge to edge of each light is 4' ? Is that correct?

2. From reading the fluorescent light chart for 2x4' fixture, the spacing distance from long edge to another long edge is 6', and spacing from short edge to another short edge is 4' (see attachment)?

Thank you!

Wrong. Must be less than 4' since there should be an overlapping region between two circles (2' radius).

Correct

thanks fare75!
Just to confirm, the accent light can be anywhere less than 4' away from walls, and spacing between each light is less than 4' edge to edge.

Is there anything else in the layout I did seems wrong?

Thanks for the feedbacks.

No.

and spacing between each light is less than 4' edge to edge.

Look at diagram again. Distance is not measured from edge.

@Coach.

Thanks for the answer, Coach!

Attached is the diagram for Accent Lighting.

It shows that at 5' above the floor, in order for light level to be 80footcandles, distance from CENTER to CENTER of each light is 4'. So the spacing has to be AT 4' or LESS than 4'?
What about the distance of accent light from accent wall?

Also, on the Sample Passing Solution from NCARB, the solutions show spacing between 2x4 fixture LESS than 6'? is this OK or does it have to be AT 6'?
I'm having a hard time reading the light diagram, if the spacing has to be LESS than or RIGHT AT what's shown.

Accents are not used for area lighting, so you don't use 4' spacing.

Use lighting diagram to find distance from light. Use that distance for sketch circle radius. Circles must intersect at face of wall.

Less than indicated on diagram is overlighting.

the distance for accent lights is 2' as the chart shows. that makes the radius 2'. so like it was mentioned its 4' diameter. where and how do you get when and how far they intersect if theyre not supposed to be 4' oc? how do you find out how the 4' dia circles are supposed to intersect? SO CONFUSED

Accents are for wall lighting, not area lighting; therefore, to achieve the required level on the wall, circles should intersect at the wall.

How do you know where they intersect and how much they intersect? That's the part I don't get.
