Postby glitterpetal723 » Tue Oct 24, 2017 6:27 pm

Hi all, I failed my last BS vignette attempt. I'm taking the exam next Thursday and would appreciate any feedback you guys may have. Thank you so much!

Incorrect 2x4 light spacing.
Need to see sketch circles to evaluate accent lights.
Lights are not centered in the conference room.

Thanks for the notes, Sparky. The 2x4 lighting is the same as the passing solution on the NCARB exam guide. What should it be instead?

NCARB passing examples contain errors. They're passing, not perfect.
You won't have an example to look at in the testing room. ;)
2x4 lights have 2 charts. Why didn't you use both of them?

2x4 lighting should be 6' apart at the long side (3' on both side = 6'; refer to the chart) !

sparky!

I have a question on the 2x4 lighting spacing. In the architects office for example , by using 4 no: 2x4 lighting ...its not the correct spacing which results in over lighting....but on the other hand if you use 2x2 it results in under lighting. Since it is an architects office isn;t over lighting better than under lighting?

I have been trying so hard to get the correct spacing and lighting that its driving me nuts. any suggestions as to ways to go about it?

thanks,

spike

ALWAYS space lights according to the lighting charts.
Slightly over lit is better than severely under lit.
