Accents underlit -- circle size incorrect.
2x4 spacing incorrect.
AO underlit.
Place 2x4s against grid.
Maintain 4' min between s/r grilles.
Flex must go to center of grille.
Returns should be parallel to short side of grid.
Air distribution can be better.
Place long damper leg in wall.
West duct run unnecessary. Exit shaft to east.

Does the direction of the "L" in the damper matter?

No. Just make sure long leg is in wall.
