The rigid duct layout does not allow for flexibility in placement of diffusers. With a max 10' flex, there are large areas that cannot be reached.
Need to see sketch elements to evaluate accent lights.

@ Sparky83

Thank you. how about this one ? can the rigid duct cross the light fixtures?

Thanks

One more try. sounds like this kind of solution more safe, since it is more similar to the passing solution of NCARB.

Does duct work efficiency matter ? I was told the diffuses at the same room should connect to the same secondary rigid duct ? is that true ?

thoughts ? advice ?

Thanks

Reasonable efficiency matters but you must provide flexibility with good coverage. In this solution for example, you can delete ducts south of shaft, move other branches west, and still have good suite coverage.

No.

Thank you Coach.

1. rigid duct : do you mean this layout ? tow vertical main branches instead of 1 or 3 ?
2. flex duct: to make the above happen, I have to connect the 3 diffusers at the the drafting studio to 2 different rigid branches. it conflicts with the Jenny's notes. But as you mentioned, it might not be a big deal
3. location of diffuses : some people mentioned to put all of the diffusers at one row and all of the returns at the other side. Is it a good strategy ? or we would better distribute the diffuser at diagonal potions?

Please advise. Thanks

Those tips contain several errors.
Light distance from the wall depends on the lighting charts.
Diffusers can be anywhere in the room. Symmetry and distance from return grilles matters. Doors and windows do not matter at all.
Duct lines are NOT centerlines. This is entirely schematic.
Supply & return can be all on one side.

People like to make stuff up.

Quite appreciate it . Sparky83 !

one more question : can the distance between the two rigid ducts be more than 20' ?

Thanks
