Most common for residential uses

Postby ataribeats » Tue Jan 16, 2018 7:17 pm

A few questions:

1) What type of cable is most common to use in a residential setting? I'm in between romex or armored cable. I romex for interior uses and armored for when there's water or outdoors. Is that correct?

2) What type of pipe is most common used in supply and drainage in residential settings? PVC?

Romex isn't allowed around here anymore, must be in conduit.

For most residential applications, romex is still allowed.. at least in the jurisdictions I work in. In commercial buildings, no... either in conduit (EMT) or flexible conduit (MC cable).

For plumbing supply lines.. I would assume PVC (polyvinyl chloride) is the correct answer on the exam.. but PEX (cross-linked polyethylene) is quickly becoming common as well..
