This is my first try at the vignette. If you could take the time to review and comment, I would really appreciate it. I'm wondering if I've added any unnecessary beams. Thanks for your help.

I can see a few mistakes that I made:
1. on the upper level, the south wall of the area, I used 4 columns and I should have only used three. (There's no reason the column locations have to be symmetrical with the ones on the north wall.)
2. on the covered entry I could delete the beam on the east and run the joists the other direction.

Is it a problem that I have upper level columns resting on bearing walls?

Other than that, I'm under the illusion that everything else is perfect until you tell me otherwise.

Thanks for the input!

oh and also:
3. on the upper level maybe I should not have put the beams on the east and west.

Don't use bearing walls.

It takes more time.
You are at risk for missing something.
Columns and beams are simply easier and faster.
