general formulas on test

Postby steveds31 » Mon Mar 12, 2018 11:25 am

Does anyone have information on what formulas are expected to be included within the test? There is so much to study for and the formulas are another thing to memorize. I would not mind taking a breather if some of them are included.

They are in the appendix part of the Brightwood (kaplan) book.

They're listed on ncarb's site and you can find them in AISC manual or any other beam design book. You can find them online.

If you try 5.0 sample exam and click on references, under structural, all of the formulas, tables and diagrams from steel manual are there as it is available on exam.

Thank you Coach, what I was more referring to was if formulas such as wind pressure, seismic shear, etc. are typically provided within the exams. There are so many formulas to account for my brain is exploding!

Besides the reference page they provide, some questions may have specific formulas given with them.
