4.0 vig first try

Postby SStephens » Thu Feb 22, 2018 9:06 pm

Hello all,
My first try at 4.0 vig. Any coments would be great!
Also, a question. Should the beams be drawn as one continious line or should they be broken up and drawn as separate beams from column to column?
Thanks,

Column to column.

Passable but rotating entry joists and deleting east beam is more efficient.

Does anybody know why a beam is needed on the east wall of common area and not the west wall?

Ncarb assumes platform framing, so, the low roof of the covered entry interrupts the east wall... and joists cannot carry the load of the upper wall.
