I am a bit confused about the following: In some online videos it will say you need to support the walls above with a beam. Ok, I understand that. But then it will say there is no need to provide a beam if the wall is exterior and continuous. This is kind of confusing to me. Is it because the interior walls are assumed not to be structural and therefore you need a beam and columns to support the exterior wall above? Are exterior walls assumed to be structural then?

It's assumed that the wall is interrupted by the low roof -- platform framing.

Are exterior walls assumed to be structural then?

If not adjacent low roof, tall wall is self-supporting.

Don't you need a "beam" to support the door opening at the left bottom?

No. And what's a "beam"?
