Vignette - Testing Monday

Postby alexwilkosz24 » Sat Jul 08, 2017 7:33 am

I think I understood this ok. Please see attached.

Few questions:

1. I had a beam across the covered entry and the joists the other way originally. Would this be ok for the exam as a different option?

2. Where should we be snapping/ending our joists and decking? Centerlines or end of walls? I ended the beams at centerlines of columns

3. How accurate should the columns be placed? Any rule of thumb like the "tick" away from a wall like the railings on the stair vignette?

4. Has anyone come across where lintels ARE required to be shown?

1. that makes sense, either way. In the real world it might be more expensive ordering joists of a unique length, instead of a batch all the same. (I'm no pro, only did one vignette today)
2. coach mentioned centerlines somewhere else.
3. I've always done ticks on other vignettes. it depends on the precision of the vignette. these ticks seem to be 4" snaps
4. YES in a structural wall, over a door or opening
