Is Thaddeus / Mitalski vital to passing?

Postby tinaruiz » Sun Sep 29, 2013 3:46 pm

Hi All,

Just gearing up for SS and I'm wondering if using the online courses is really necessary? Has anyone out there passed SS without them?

Any insight is appreciated.

Thanks!

A few people in my office have passed SS in the last 6 months w/o either one.

Thanks for the reply. I think I'm going to study for a couple weeks and see how it goes...

Mitalski's class was my main study source and a great one at that. Studying on your own and reassessing after that might be a good idea if you are confident enough to begin with. Marc breaks everything down very well into digestible parts. I absolutely recommend his course if you decide to supplement. You also get access to his Equals program which is an online test bank of questions, again with in depth (sometimes video) explanations. I found that a lot of the equals questions go beyond what you learn in the 35+ hours of his lectures so it was very beneficial to go through these as well.

As I am studying for this one, I have reason to believe that if you were good at concepts to begin with: had a good grade at this in class while studying architecture, no matter how long ago that was, you can bypass the Thaddeus or mitalski lectures, they are just really wonderful professors teaching basically the same course. If you are like me and barely made it through with help from classmates; you need these lectures.

Thanks for the input! I was lucky enough to have an awesome Professor (Dr. Wayne Place) who made Structures interesting and I did pretty well. Hopefully the knowledge will come back...if not, i'll supplement. Best of Luck to you all still studying for this one.
