This vignette seems very straightforward, but I have one question.
David Thaddeus says to draw everything to center points...beams spanning from column center to column center, the rectangle you draw from joists going from column center to diagonal column center, etc. This all makes sense. But when it comes to the decking itself, do you also draw it to the same points as the joists? Or do you draw the exterior edge of the decking to the exterior face of the exterior wall?
On the practice vignette, if I draw everything (including decking) to center points, the decking ends up centered with all of the structure at the roof overhang, but it's slightly set back from the actual roof overhang line (which is aligned with the exterior face of the building.
I'm pretty clear on this vignette overall, but would appreciate some feedback as to where the edge of decking should be drawn on the exterior face of the building....centered with the beam/joist below it, or taken to the actual face of the building? Thanks!
