Getting too "cute" with furniture placements which could bite you...
Put as much backed up against the wall as possible... lat files in SO to south wall, bookcase in CR to west wall.
Handles count... current layout of lat files in SO may not work.

in the cr i didn't think putting the bookcase flat against the wall would work. It would have violated the door clear space and access to the work table which actually brings a questions to mind.

The work table: is there a minimum amount of sides you need access to it? Would having access to just one side (the longest axis) be sufficient? if so then i can see why i should have rotated the bookcase.

in the SO, i totally agree i should have tweaked it further to back more furniture against the wall.

Only one long side of the worktable requires clearance.
