BL SAJJAD ALT- 1st attempt

Postby gviaud73 » Sat Oct 19, 2013 3:27 pm

Thank God for this forum! The alt's...what a great tool to practice. Here's my first stab at SAjjad BL Alt. I know I made poor decisions from the beginning but I took it all the way through as if it were in the exam under the clock. I know the Large Meeting room requires southern view but that big OB block was blinding all my rooms on the second floor. I'm hoping that little 6' window fulfills the LM view requirement. Thanks in advance!

doesnt the EE need to be enterd on a corridor? Can it be entered from the outside only??

also while the program doesnt state it, i thought all trees were off limits?

your exit from the mp space appears to go past the property line

Lobby has poor proportions and is a dead end corridor. Corridor between CR and S is a dead end. Corridor between both bathrooms on the second floor looks like a dead end as well.
Stairs must exit directly to the exterior on grade.
EE cannot be accessed from the exterior; it has to be from the corridor or an adjoining room.
EM room is missing...
Missing doors into W, SC, T, S on the first floor.
LD and W must have direct access to one another.
MR exit over the building limit line is OK; it would not be OK if that were the property line.
The building should not disturb site features (trees).

I think you misread the program. Regardless, IMO that's not much of a window for that room size.

L proportions very poor.
CR view poor.
No control of main entry.
Missing doors.
Missing stair exits.
EE must be accessed from interior.
Corridor exit redundant when stair is corrected.
Illegal dead end.
One C per floor.
EM missing.
CR/MR distance very weak.
Ts are oversized.

No.

No.

If trees are an issue the program will tell you.

That's not a PL.

Thanks coach on your comments on my comments:

I thought i should take a stab at looking at someone elses scheme to see what i could find and what i could take away on my own...Sorry for any confusion- testing in 2 weeks.

Coach just to clarify -

The exit from the MP room having to be within the building line. I think i confused it with a property line "rule"...Just to clarify the exit door should not open off the property. It is ok to open off the building line as long as you dont open off the property line..I got that from the dorf videos..
