Well I feel confident about this layout even though the solution in the book looks alot cleaner. I hope that my exam is similar to this one.
Next time I would put the officer's desk in the corner. It does open up the room. (mental note)

Could this conf. room be reduced in width? You only need 36" from the table to the wall correct?

Looks good.
Conference room table is correct. To be able to reach the bookcase a clear path of 36" measured from the chair to wall is needed.
