Postby thumbelina » Thu Jul 24, 2014 10:30 pm

Im finding this vignette more difficult than the interior layout. Will greatly appreciate any feedback.

Thanks in advance.

TS needs corridor access
Exit doors can cross building limit line (from what I've read from others) but if you worried about it, i'd shift the entire building off of the building limit line.
MP exit doors should both swing in the direction of travel (out).

SW office is oddly shaped (not realistic)
TR's are way too skinny
Access to SO from DO looks tight - typically need 18" on pull side of door - not sure what you have there...

What's your dimension from the south wall of the LM to the south wall of the SM - make sure no more than 20' (dead end corridor)

Is Thumb's inswing Door to MP OK if there are 2 other exits out swinging on the sides?

I'm no pro (still practicing/learning/and getting some things wrong), but if it took you forever, then you might improve your time by making your shapes more rectilinear: draw them before you assemble them. Lots of them can have similar dimensions which are easy to stack next to eachother. The optimum seems to be square or rectangle with 2:1 being the preferred maximum. So your TRs can be 10x20 and stack right next to eachother, Your TS can be 15x20, your stairs 10x20. Anyway, so you're starting with lots of similar dimensions and it's easier to eyeball where they'll fit neatly. No need for L-corridors, just plug them into a boring straight run.

Cheers,
-A

L proportions very poor.
MP doors to circulation must swing out. Only 2 exits required.
TS shape poor.
TS access missing.
TS/MP connection not in program.
EM shape weak.
TR shape poor.
SM shape very poor.
2nd floor TR proportions completely unacceptable.
SW shape very poor.

Thank you Coach and kartichoke for the constructive criticism. My solution can be titled "the what-not-to-do's".... ;)
