On the NCARB sample passing solution, they show the roof height above the clerestory at 19'-0" (see below)
If you work back from the West edge of the lower roof @ 9'-6" to the clerestory, the top of the lower roof is 18'@3:12 slope = 54/12 = 4'-6".
Then, 4'-6"+9'-6" = 14'
The clerestory sectional height is 24" (2')
So, 14'+2' = 16'.
Adding 18" for roof thickness, the upper roof above the clerestory could be as low as 17'-6". Can anyone explain why NCARB put their upper roof at 19'-0". Are we to assume another 18" for the clerestory that isn't in the program? Thanks,
