the intersection point of the lower roof is 14', + 1'6" roof deck thickness + 2' window height , the lower roof point of the higher roof should be 17'6", why the NCARB passing solution shows 19'
please advise.
Thanks

The upper roof must be higher than lower at all points where they meet.
additionally, why NCARB passign solution use 3:12 slope instead of 2:12 ? any reason ?
