Roof Vignette Attempt 1

Postby mpc123 » Sat Apr 21, 2018 1:10 pm

Comments on roof plan appreciated. In this approach, I tried an asymmetrical lower roof that aligned with the center of the upper roof ridge.. this resulted in a higher eave height on the east side. Would this be considered fatal or a major issue / overbuild? Or is it always better to keep the ridge lines centered on the overall horizontal width?

Other questions:
- Do you have to make 2 separate gutters if there are two eaves at different heights similar to how the east side of my plan lays out? And if so, does that require 1 downspot at each end of each gutter?
- Does flashing sit on the very edge or centered in the wall?
- Is there a minimum clearance for skylight locations from roof edges?

Thanks!

I doubt it's an error at all, but it could cause you to make an error.

Yes.

Of course.

Each gutter should have its own downspout(s).

Flashing is at face.

- Is there a minimum clearance for skylight locations from roof edges?

Something reasonable.

What is that next to lounge sink?
