Roof Vignette - Please Review!

Postby krissmZ » Sat Mar 03, 2018 12:26 pm

Can you please review the attached roof NCARB solution? Is it ok that the gutter goes in front of the chimney? Or should it break? If I break then it will require 2 more downspouts on either side of the chimney, so which is considered more efficient and a better design?

Do I always need a downspout on either end of a gutter?

Is it a good solution to have the top and bottom roofs meet at the same elevation in order to use one gutter? I realize I you can't tell the roof elevations, but they are both 9'-6" on the East side.

No reason not to.

One is enough up to 15'.

No. Upper must be above lower wherever they meet. Roof planes should have their own gutters and gutters should not share downspouts.

See above.
