Stair 3.1 - Please Comment

Postby mih2113 » Wed Jan 24, 2018 6:54 pm

Is it ok that my last landing onto the ground floor is in not against the wall? I moved it over so my handrails wouldn't run into the storage door clearance.

I know I need to provide enough head room to exit to the side walk on the left but is there a requirement as to how much is needed? Is this solution ok or I should've provided a walk way like the passing solution suggested?

Why would that be a problem?

It's in the code. Width and height as required.

Grader doesn't see sketch elements, but only one AOR is required.
Stair looks wider than required.

Thanks Coach - I made the stairs width to be 5' just to be safe

That my be ok but it doesn't demonstrate a complete understanding of the code.

Coach,

One quick question. Does the riser height have to be constant for the entire stairs? Or can the riser height varies for each flight of stairs?

It seems that in your video you suggested that it's OK for the riser height to vary.

Thanks!

Isn't that wag the code says?

I don't suggest it, I flat out say it's ok.
