Ramp 4.0 1st Try: Question about Railing

Postby Concord55 » Sun Feb 25, 2018 3:11 am

This is my first attempt at the ramp vignette.

If I have an elongated landing do I need the railing along the inside of the landing which turns into the exit corridor (on wall next to the office space)? From what I understand it is not necessary, but I drew it to illustrate the question. The railing on the inside of the 7" elev. landing would therefore not be necessary.

Thanks for any and all feedback.

Why would you need a rail there?

Incorrect elevations. (auto fail)
Egress narrows at base of stair.
Delete east rail at 0.7 (sic) landing.

Thanks, Coach.

I thought I had put the elevations in feet and inches (now I understand that it’s only possible in inches).

Could you explain about the egress narrowing? I know that it can’t narrow in the path of travel, but I don’t understand how that’s happening at the base of the stair.

Thank you.

Distance from end of west rail to north wall is less than overall stair width.
