Stair Vignette- ARE 3.1- Testing Monday

Postby mofakham » Thu Feb 22, 2018 11:21 pm

Hi everyone,

I have a few questions about my solution to stair vignette;

Can we have any landing lower than 7'-4" (Clear 80")? I have a landing at 5'-0".
Is my upper landing (13'-6") too wide? Is this a major error?

Thanks!

Actually, 80" is 6'-8".
And of course you can have landings lower than that. How do you propose having a functional stair otherwise?

No.

What are the circles for?
Why are 5' & 3' landings wider than stair?
Inadequate CFA at lobby door.

Actually, 80" is 6'-8".Sorry I meant 7'8" (92"=80" plus 12" for structural)!
And of course you can have landings lower than that. How do you propose having a functional stair otherwise? I just wanted to make sure there is no restriction on number of landings to get to the desired height.

No.

Why are 5' & 3' landings wider than stair? I just noticed 5' turning space is only required for the ramp vignette. I did my landing 5' wide here as well. Is this a major error?
Inadequate CFA at lobby door. Oops! Right. It is fine though if the railing extension encroaches to maneuvering clearances at doors, right?

Thanks a lot for doing this. It was so helpful! :)

No. Just make a stair that satisfies the program.

Probably not a scoring error, but it improperly interpreting the program won't help you pass.

Only rails mounted on door wall may encroach.
