I think this looks ok.

Its my understanding that you don't want your contours to be perfectly straight and parallel like that on west side...as in the contours should vary a tiny bit...its better for erosion purposes...at least that's what Ive been reading in the Russ book. You don't want your contours to look artificial by making them to "perfect".

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Thank you very much.
To be sure,

Do you mean CI 108' and 109' on the left side of the locomotive display should look more irregular?

Thank you for your response.

I do. And I don't want to lead you astray. So hopefully someone like Coach or Sparky will weigh in and confirm or deny!

Straight lines are perfectly fine. Either you misunderstood the book or the author is full of BS.

Ok thanks so much Sparky!! Huge relief to confirm that.

I may be confusing real life w/ the vignette. The Russ book does say to try and make your contours look natural and not too perfect but that doesn't appear to apply to vignette.

Hi Everyone! I have a quick question regarding contour @ 110'... I see in the solution that when it wraps the building it touches it- just like NCARB does on the solution on the video on line- but I also see solutions where that first contour does not wrap the building- also Dorf examples ... does it matter?

Contour 110 ' doesn't touch the building. It wraps it around but I left a few inches around it. It is difficult to see in the image though.

"What is the Russ book?"

Site Planning and Design Handbook that several people seemed to think was important for the exam.
