Site Grading attempt

Postby PlaidChad » Tue Feb 20, 2018 6:05 pm

This is my first attempt at the site grading vignette. For some reason this one confuses me. I'm still not sure how to use the sketch tool to figure out my minimums since people say not to use small circles, so if anyone could explain that as well, I'd appreciate it.

Who said not to use small circles?
Need to see your solution with sketch elements shown so we can see how you solved it.
Minimum slope between 106 & 105 probably not met.

Here it is with the sketch elements. I modified it a bit because some of the minimums weren't met.

How did you verify the minimum slope?

The minimum width is calculated by W=I/S (Width = Interval/Slope). The interval is how much space is between each line (1', 2', etc.) and the slope is the percentage in decimal form (20% slope =.2)

Hope that helps.

I should have specified that Slope refers to maximum slope in the equation above.

How did you apply that in the vignette?

The width of my contours is 1'/.2 = 5'. I drew 5' circles in sketch to make sure that my contours are not too close together.

Please re-read my original question.

I don't understand what you're asking.
