SPD Practice Vignette

Postby anirbasch » Sun Feb 11, 2018 12:35 pm

I am using the NCARB Practice Program.

A few questions:

1. Does it matter if the Pedestrian Plaza is an odd shape? How close to the 8000sf requirement do we have to be?
2. The tolerances for snapping are odd for drawing the Plaza and the Pedestrian Walkways. Should I err on the snap overlapping building entries and parking spaces? Otherwise the required elements don't connect to the required program elements.

Thank you for your feedback. If you see anything else awry in my submission please share.

I don’t think the shape of pedestrian plaza matters. It’s OK to be + or -10%.
Not sure about question two.

Too much of the PP is shaded by the OT.
1/2 of the view of the pond is blocked for the restaurant.
A walk crossing a drive is not continuous as required and is a safety issue.
Pedestrian circulation must reach all 3 HCP parking spaces.
The PP overlaps the pond setback.
