Can parking spaces and driveways drawn this way?

Postby Babyranie » Sat Feb 03, 2018 11:13 pm

hi, i am wondering if driveways can be trimmed 90 degree angle like this, so a looped driveway can fit more parking spaces.
let me know your thoughts!

I have had the same question. The program states that parking spaces need to be perpendicular to the driveway, so I have been trying to avoid the configuration that you circled. Technically, your end spaces are parallel with the drive isle. Hopefully someone else can help clarify this...

I don't see a problem. You're not showing anything unusual, just preserving trees.
Generally, good practice is to have aisle go beyond last space (at least 2'), but that's probably not a factor on the exam.
Maybe Sparky has an opinion.

Hopefully I am interpreting this incorrectly, but the attached pdf shows what I mean. The end parking spaces are straight in front of the vehicular lane, and hence are parallel with it.

Why would that be a problem? All the program is telling you is that you must use 90-degree parking -- No angled or parallel (on curb) spaces.
The spaces you're pointing out have a perpendicular aisle to back into like all the others.

Thanks for all the response. i think the best way is to avoid this configuration if possible.
