Site Grading Tolerance Question

Postby ravileao » Fri Aug 04, 2017 10:02 am

Hi all,

Here is my solution for the site grading vignette.

I would guess this is already answered somewhere but I cant find it. What is the recommended tolerance for min and max slope? The shown solution tries to make the min slope exactly 5' and the max slope exactly 50'. I would feel much more confident that I haven't messed it up if I did about 49'-6" and 5'-2" given the drafting programs snap problems. Thoughts?

ANYTHING between 2% and 20% is acceptable. They are simply the upper and lower limits. You are not required to get as close to them as possible.

Thanks for the response. I know we are supposed to "minimize" the grading which would imply that we should maximize the limits, but it sounds like while being over the limit is a definite deduction if not fail, being under the limits within reason should be good to go.
