Tested Today - 2nd attempt

Postby mjf185 » Mon Nov 25, 2013 2:32 pm

I've taken all the exam sections now.
The six other sections, I passed on the first attempt...including structures, which was a genuine divine intervention.
The PPP exam today felt much better than the version I took 6 months ago.
Granted, that I studied much harder because I really want to be done and had a lot of anxiety.
There were only a couple of WTF questions, and a few of the typical 'pick 3 out of 5' confusing options
The vignette was straightforward...similar to the NCARB practice vignette.

Know project delivery methods, basic AIA contract documents.

I studied a bit of everything I could get my hands on:
in order of what I thought was most valuable (best to least).
- AHPP (Arch Handbook of Professional Practice)
- AIA document synopses
- AIA contract relationship diagrams
- Carolines Notes / Jenny's Notes
- IPD Guide (integrated project delivery)
- Ballast
- Kaplan
- Creating Defensible Space
- Dorf Solutions

All of this was in addition to reading ARE Coach forum posts, practicing the vignette a couple of times,
googling terms, and watching the PPP vignette tutorial on vimeo.
Hope this is helpful.

As a sidenote - The PPP forum on ARE Coach seems the least frequented/least posted to.
I kept checking it for valuable insights, but felt a little left out on this one compared to the popularity of other coach forums.

Best of luck to you all.

Just got results today...it's a PASS!

it took a week and a half this time which isn't bad since that included Thanksgiving.
This was my last exam, so I'm done.

Thank you to everyone on the forum who provides input/feedback and thank you Coach for providing your website and insights!!!

Congratulations!
Not passing PPP last Fall caused me to loose my prior (6 of 9 under 3.1) exams (rolling clock).
I am always pleased to read when PPP is a PASS!
Hope you enjoy your holidays with the ARE behind you.
