NCARB vignette- testing Monday!

Postby mlek77 » Wed Oct 30, 2013 1:19 pm

Hi there,

So here's my latest pass at the NCARB vignette:

PPP NCARB vignette_131030.pdf

Any and all comments are appreciated, but I particularly want to know if I drew the grade profile correctly where the section line crosses the tangent of that funny jog in contour 125'. Given that the section faces the other way, I drew it as a slight rise, rather than a full 5' elevation change. Was that right, or should I have taken the grade line up to 125'?

Thanks for your help!

It looks OK. Not sure what your question is, just project from intersections of the contour lines and the section cut line, and you'll be fine.

My question was about what to do when a contour line curves at a section cut, just touching it but not crossing it. I looked at the NCARB solution, and it seems to just treat these as if the contour HAD crossed the section line. Weird, but this whole thing is so weird, why should I be surprised...
