License in Hand

Postby alexwilkosz24 » Fri Jan 19, 2018 8:20 am

Acquired my license via email today from my state.

Thank you to this forum and Coach. I did not post a lot, but I did lurk and read a lot and it was very helpful.

Good luck to everyone else.

Passed first exam Nov 2013 and last one Nov 2017. Took a full year off in the middle from any exams. If you're wondering how long it could take to do. If I had been more proactive I could have easily done it in like 16 months, but didn't rush it and enjoyed other things in life while doing it all.

My state was two days -- yes, two days -- and they could not have been more accommodating. But don't get too excited just yet -- NCARB takes at least 30 days -- and mine took nearly twice that.

You would think that since NCARB has "streamlined" the 5.0 exam and the results that they could do the same with the final review/transmittal process. In my opinion, 30 days is unacceptable for something as important as this.

That being said, I was able to get NCARB to transmit to my state in 9 business days.

*Edit: State emailed my license the same day that NCARB transmitted the final record to them.
