Can't Transition

Can't Transition

Postby toshea13 » Wed Aug 09, 2017 7:48 am

Soooooo I have NO 4.0 exams scheduled, but I want to transition to 5.0 and register for PA. I went to "My Examination" and there's no "Transition" button. Is it not in an obvious spot?

You also need to pass SPD in order to transition to 5.0

Try getting rid of your ncarb cookies and reloading the page. If that doesn't work you'll need to contact ncarb.

Don't do it toshea!

You'll regret it! ARE 5.0 is HORRIBLE. I so wish i could go back to 4.0.

I ended up having to contact NCARB. Thanks for the input everyone!
vrcat25, why do you say that it's horrible?

For one, the pass rates are lower than 4.0 so, a smaller percentage pass 5.0 tests than they do 4.0. For another, I took PPD and PPD (failing both) and i can tell you based on first hand experience that the questions are very obscure and very ambiguous. I regret transitioning and unfortunately, you may not transition back. The reason is, NCARB is trying to make more money from us or else why wouldn't they let you switch back?? They provide incentives so that you can become certified after passing 5 tests (SPD, PPP, CDS, PPD and PDD), but if you fail PPD and/or PDD 3 or more times, it actually would take longer and many people have already failed and complained about 5.0. Stick with 4.0 and the questions are much more straightforward. Just giving you a fair warning.
