How should I deal with corporate recruiters? I've never done it before. How do they operate?

I used to get weekly calls somehow. They typically go on about new opportunities and when I say I'm good they start asking about people I know.
I usually just tell them I am happy where I am, and if I know of anyone I'll have them contact you. Then I go to linkedin and delete anyone who I am connected with from that company..

What if I am open to a new opportunity?

I used a corporate recruiter to get my current full-time job. No complaints, but the only thing I'd keep in mind is that when/if the time comes to move on from the job they place you on, they can't help you find another job due to conflict of interest - They'll have an agreement with the firm which says they cannot pull employees back out of positions they place them in.

I am being contacted by Aerotek every now and then. For some reason whenever they call me I have feeling they are more interested in my place than my potentially new position. I have never found them useful, but that's me.
