Who purchases AIA contract documents

Who purchases AIA contract documents

Postby vrcat25 » Wed Apr 19, 2017 2:47 pm

At the firm I work for, we have drafted our own contracts and in a few rare instances we have provided AIA documents to the owner as requested, but who's responsibility is it to purchase these (A101, A201, B101, etc.)? I realize that the forms are only $10-20, but this expense would add up over time and am just curious if the owner or architect should be paying this expense?

I also remember hearing you're allowed to produce 10 copies of each contract until you're supposed to buy a new one....is that correct?

I believe I heard that from Doucette's audio companion.
Please correct me if i'm wrong.
