What solid reference books or online sources or study guides may be used for studying sustainability topics for the current ARE....in particular for the Site Planning test?

Got to the USGBC website, and you can find a lot of free info there. Focus on the SS category. It probably will give you too much info.
If you want to save time, you can pick one or two books on LEED and green buildings and read it.
NCARB is quietly incorporating the LEED info into ARE exams without using the term LEED. Just read the scope of ARE exams, and you will know what I am talking about.
