Does anyone know what a unit in place estimate is and what phase it would be used in??

Thanks!

Still no luck :(

I did find this

Unit in place- Definition

The appraisal method of estimating building costs by calculating the costs of all of the physical components in the structure, with the cost of each item including its proper installation. Also called the segregated cost method

THANK YOU, CAN SOMEONE CONFIRM THIS, so this is done at CD or bidding phase right?

I'd think it's during CD. Wouldn't the "cost estimate" during bid phase be the bid itself from the contractor?
