Good afternoon,

I had seen recommended readings for MEEB and FEMA for PDD,
But cannot find them. Does anyone know what they are?

Thanks.

Hey! Here's the link to the FEMA reading on Earthquake design: https://www.fema.gov/media-library-data ... mplete.pdf

And this is Mechanical and Electrical Equipment for Buildings (MEEB): https://amzn.to/2sC5ia9
Hope that helps!

Thank you!

Do you know what sections are the ones recommended to read?

Hi Samuel7561 -- I passed the ARE in 5.0 last year. For PPD and PDD, I did buy MEEB, and then hardly cracked it. Great reference book, just a little too long and dense to be a practical study reference. For PDD, My strategy was to know the 5.0 handbook MEP formulas -- I did some related reading to make this happen -- mostly online. Given the number of calcs possible for any given candidate on the PDD exam -- there isn't much ROI in killing yourself with the MEEB.
Good luck!

For FEMA: 4-5 and 8 were most helpful for me but of course read as much as you can.

For MEEB: 4 - Comfort, Climate and Design Strategies, 7 - Heat Flow, 11 - Lighting Fundamentals, 14 - Daylighting Design, 15 - Electrical Lighting Design, 24 - Fire Protection, 25 - Principles of Electricity.

Yes i have - unfortunately I had made major computer problems but NCARB refunded my exam fee.

Do you ask because you think my suggestions do not line up with the exam? Would appreciate any suggestions for my retake.
