4.0 to 5.0 Materials

4.0 to 5.0 Materials

Postby eoanna » Sun Nov 13, 2016 3:32 pm

I was thinking about taking a look through Kaplan and Ballast chapters for BDCS, BS and SS to compare to 5.0 objectives and see which chapters to read / focus on. Has anyone started this?

Based on the posts from those who took the exam it sounds like reading everything and studying for PPD and PDD simultaneously may be a better bet, it is just a lot of material!

Thoughts?

It is a lot of material, but that is close to what PPD and PDD are.

I would add on some schematic design ideas to PPD and the construction documents and project manual portions of CDS to PDD.

Though, thinking about it... both PPD and PDD are 120 questions. The 4.0 Structural Systems test alone was 120 questions. That means, to some extent, either there are going to be less questions about each topic, the questions will be higher level, or the questions will often include more than one topic.

In my mind, bdcs, is a more synthesize version of bs, ss, cds and a sprinkle of spd. that said, in my mind and exam experience so far, 5.0 ppd seems to be a synthesis of heavily prelim aspects bdcs, ppp, bs, ss, and sprinkled with cds & spd.
just my thgts tho.

So "prelim" as in more basic concepts? I just passed the big 4.0 three and am leaning to transition and study with 4.0 materials
