I failed last Dec & am planning to get back on study track. Can anyone tell me what’s the process of retaking the test? Can I schedule it or do I have to wait for 6 months date to pass before scheduling? Do I need any confirmation from CAB?

Coach is right, it's in the handbook on Page 3. You have to wait 180 days (6 months) from the date of the failed examination. On page 10 it says you have to apply again and pay the fee to retake the exam.
