I made up this question:
"An Environmental Heath Dept officer while inspecting a restaurant
next to a dryclean store has issued a "redtag" to the store for
the door threshold that is 3/4" in height. The dryclean store owner hired
you as a licensed architect to "clear the problem".
a) You write a letter to EHD saying this redtag is not within their
jurisdictional capacity, hence it's invalid.
b) You asked the owner to hire a handiman to grind the concrete doorway
to .5" high threshold including .25" bevel and do nothing else.
c) The EHD officer was rightfully to do so, because he is the law enforcement
officer, doing such to protect the public.
d) You bring the owner with you to the EHD office, explaining this is not
within EHD capacity, yet have the owner promise in writing to fix the problem
with a proper building permit at owner's convenient time.
What s your answer.
