Building Codes Illustrated - Recommended by Doucette

I was wondering how candidates feel about purchasing the Ching book "Building Codes Illustrated" as study material for the CSE. David Doucette recommends it, but I really can't afford it at this time, or (better said) am trying to decide if it's worth the investment for purposes of the CSE. Any feedback would be helpful.

I purchased an earlier one, the 2006 edition. It was about $6 on amazon. It was current enough to help me pass the CSE.
