Stamp renewal date

Can someone clarify the difference between renewal date and expiration date as it relates to the architect's stamp?

renewal date is every 2 years, the last date of your birth month in the odd-number year. This date is on your stamp.

and per the practice act:

depending on which part of the practice act you are reading, the 'expiration' can refer to the renewal date or also the day 5 years after your renewal date which you're license can no long be renewed.

It's not as clearly defined as renewal date.
