I'm just starting to dig into the materials for the CSE, and at work we're starting to hear things about the new code that takes effect on January 1st. Has anyone seen or heard anything about when this may be incorporated into the CSE? Depending on when I become eligible and when I can feel comfortable enough to sit for the exam, there's a chance it may not be until the new year, and if so maybe testing with the new code? I will continue to look on my own, but just wanted to check if there was already a discussion about this.
Also, I recently attended an Energy Conservation course by Energy Code Ace for building inspectors and plan checkers in Beverly Hills where they talked about the previous 2013 code roll-out being hindered by implementing a lot of new computer systems, causing delays in adoption by months or even years in some jurisdictions. California is claiming since all those systems are now in place that this roll-out should be effective January 1st, 2017. Of course we'll believe it when we see it, but it just got me thinking about what this may mean for the CSE. I'm thinking it's doubtful they'd change right away, but figured I'd ask around here if anyone's heard anything. Thanks!
