Energy Conservation in Historic Code?

Energy Conservation in Historic Code?

Postby Kirbart » Mon Nov 10, 2014 3:44 pm

In addition to the CA Energy Code, which of the following codes also has energy conservation provisions?
1. CPC
2. CA Elevator Safety Construction Code
3. CHBC
4. CFC

I have run across this twice in review materials and cannot find it in the CHBC...
Guessing it's all now in the Energy Code?

Thanks Coach.

So, basically it references the Energy Code for new non-historical lighting and componenets; otherwise Historical buildings are exempt eh?

It stays the same in v2016
8-901.5 Energy conservation. Qualified historical buildings
or properties covered by this part are exempted from compliance
with energy conservation standards. When new non-historical
lighting and space conditioning system components,
devices, appliances and equipment are installed, they shall
comply with the requirements of Title 24, Part 6, The California
Energy Code, except where the historical significance or
character-defining features are threatened.
